Course Grade Questions

How do I convert a point-based grade to a percentage?

To convert points to a percentage, divide the score you received by the total possible points, then multiply by 100. For example, if you scored 45 out of 50, your percentage grade is (45 / 50) * 100 = 90%.

What if I haven't received a grade for an assignment yet?

You can leave the grade field blank for items you haven't completed. The calculator will determine your current average based only on the graded components you've entered. You can also input a target score to see how it would affect your overall grade.

What does the "total weight is not 100%" warning mean?

This is a helpful reminder. If you've entered only your completed assignments, this shows your grade so far. If you've entered all components from your syllabus and they don't add up to 100, you should double-check your syllabus to ensure you haven't missed anything.
